Registrar’s Office Accesses Documents Quickly and Securely with Synergize
Richmond Hill, ON – May 25, 2009 – Microdea continues to transform information access at Higher Education Institutions.
The Michener Institute for Applied Health Sciences (Michener) is Canada’s only post-secondary institution devoted exclusively to health-science education. With over 5,000 students enrolled in full-time, part-time and continuing education programs, Michener is a centre of excellence for applied health sciences.
Michener’s Registrar’s Office receives vast quantities of student documents from a variety of sources and in different formats (print, fax, email). Retrieving student information was a cumbersome process consuming a lot of employee time and resources. The Registrar’s Office challenge was to better manage the information, deliver fast document access together with secure long-term document storage.
“We selected Microdea’s Synergize Document Automation software as it is successfully employed by other Canadian Higher Education Institutions with similar business requirements,” said Bill Pitman, Registrar and Director, Student Enrolment Director, The Michener Institute.
Synergize electronically stores files and makes them easily accessible to authorized individuals. As original documents can never be removed from the system, this eliminates the risk of lost, misplaced or damaged documents. In addition, Synergize facilitates regulatory compliance with privacy legislation, ensuring information privacy.
“Synergize makes it so much easier and quicker to access information and respond to information requests,” continued Bill Pitman, Registrar and Director, Student Enrolment Director, The Michener Institute.
“We are delighted to welcome The Michener Institute, who join Seneca College, University of Calgary, University of Alberta and Fleming College as Synergize clients,” said Colin Ruskin, VP Business Development, Microdea Inc.
