A range of methods is used by Synergize to capture documents:

Print rendition where documents are submitted to Synergize via a print stream (COLD/ERM)

Printing Directly to Synergize
Third Party Scan Capture solutions such as Kofax, Lexmark and others
Complex Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) where documents are transferred directly from disparate systems into the Synergize.

The Synergize Scan Capture client provides comprehensive tools to ensure accurate and quick scanning of documents. When conducting large scale document capture, users require tools that can process large volumes of paper quickly and efficiently. The Synergize™ system includes capabilities such as:
Advanced image compression (reduces storage needs and improves system performance),
Forms recognition and content extraction (for large volume automated data capture)
Bar code recognition makes indexing quicker and therefore operationally more efficient
It also provides other image processing capabilities such as black border removal, image deskew, line processing, auto image orientation plus other capabilities such as double feed detection, duplex scanning and image cropping.
No two business capture processes are exactly the same, consequently the capture system must be capable of modification/customization to suit particular client requirements. The advanced Synergize Add-In technology allows developers to quickly create Visual Basic plug-in scripts to tailor the capture and indexing behaviour without requiring complete custom developed capture solutions. This is an imperative time saving capability: no matter how complex the particular capture situation becomes, all clients remain on the same code base and are assured of an upgrade path to new versions of the software as more features and capabilities are added.
