Synergize Forms Capture and Processing enables organizations to significantly cut costs associated with data entry keystrokes, increase data accuracy, and reduce processing time for “unstructured forms” such as invoices and shipping documents.

Synergize Forms Capture and Processing remedies this by handling all data capture and document classification tasks, including form recognition, image enhancement, automatic validations and look-ups, verification and storing the document to Synergize as well as exporting the extracted data to other business applications.

With Synergize Forms Capture and Processing, documents are automatically classified based on data that makes them identifiable. Optical Character Recognition (OCR) achieves this by reading strips or zones of a document. For instance, if it is configured that in the top 2 inches of a document the word “Bill of Lading” is recognized, then the document is appropriately classified as a Bill of Lading.

Automated recognition is especially beneficial for distributed terminals where large batches of documents are scanned using Simple Scan and assigned to the appropriate workflow, as the need to manually sort documents is eliminated.

Synergize Forms Capture and Processing provides three ways of reading and classifying a document; Handwritten Text, Handwritten #’s, and Machine Print. By selecting the appropriate method, accuracy is ensured and errors are avoided, for example, the letter “O” is not mistaken for the number “0” and vice versa.

Synergize also supports Optical Character Recognition (OCR) engines, such as OCR for machine print, Intelligent Character Recognition (ICR) for handwriting, and Bar Code Recognition (BCR), to deliver the most advanced level of accuracy when capturing data from scanned images. Intelligent document anchors are used together with rules to locate, extract and validate the desired information.

Using Synergize, organizations can automatically extract critical information from invoices, BOL’s, applications, cheques and other documents, without manually keying information.
