"Like all insurance companies, business at Gore Mutual was traditionally very paper intensive. There were contracts, policies, applications, multi-part claim forms, and more to deal with, refer to, and store—often for the life of the insurance policy. After decades of using a paper-based filing and access system, the company embarked on a gradual, orderly transition to electronic document management solution in 2001. First there were flatbed scanners and today there are two Kodak i620 Scanners, along with a modular electronic document management system (EDMS) that has grown with the company’s needs."
