Revera Living (previously Retirement Residences Group) is the largest provider of long-term services to seniors in Canada. Revera Living owns or manages over 200 Long Term Care and Retirement Home facilities in Canada and the United States and currently provides care, personal services and accommodation for more than 22,000 seniors.
BUSINESS CHALLENGES
Retrieve invoices without having to exit the JD Edwards One World Accounts Payable Module (now Oracle's JD Edwards EnterpriseOne)
The immediate business focus was to implement a scanning and indexing solution for the high volume of Accounts Payable invoices processed daily. Invoices were sent from the many facilities across Canada and USA to the head office for processing and physical storage. Storing the multiple page invoices was becoming increasingly expensive and it was both inefficient and labour intensive to retrieve original invoices.
The key challenge facing the Revera Living Accounts Payable department was to have the ability to retrieve invoices for both the Long Term Care and Retirement divisions without having to exit the JD Edwards OneWorld Accounts Payable Module (now Oracle's JD Edwards EnterpriseOne).
SOLUTION
Synergize Document Management integrates with JD Edwards (now Oracle's JD Edwards EnterpriseOne) and allows instant access to invoices.
Revera Living selected Microdea’s Synergize Document Management as it could be seamlessly modified to integrate with the JD Edwards One World Accounts Payable Module (now Oracle's JD Edwards EnterpriseOne).

RESULTS
Revera Living has achieved both significant cost savings and increased work productivity since deploying Synergize. Accounts Payable invoices are now easily accessible using Synergize by both head office and home office staff. Invoices no longer have to be physically retrieved from the archives, which was an ongoing monthly expense. Accounts Payable staff no longer are required to answer end user queries, spend time photocopying or filing hard copy invoices, therefore eliminating lost or misplaced paper invoices. The end users can now solve most of their own queries by themselves.
Invoice retrieval is fast and securely managed within JD Edwards (now Oracle's JD Edwards EnterpriseOne).
“Payments are now more securely controlled and the Accounts Payable department will not produce a cheque unless the invoice is scanned and matched to the JD Edwards (now Oracle's JD Edwards EnterpriseOne) voucher,” commented Kim Stumpo, Accounts Payable Manager.
